According to the latest market study by ABI Research , the HbbTV standard is having an impact on increasing the consumers' interest and adoption for connected TVs. In Germany and France, where HbbTV has thus far had the greatest traction, connected TVs enjoyed ongoing demand by a broad cross-section of consumers. In France, connected TV penetration was highest amongst the surveyed countries -- with 22 percent of respondents who have a wired or wireless home network. In terms of usage, 41 percent of French respondents with a TV connected to their home network browse the Internet -- which came in second only to viewing over-the-top online video (54 percent).
