Shipments of standalone DSL modems increased only slightly as more DSL service providers moved to residential gateway equipment. As service providers move to triple-play business models, where voice, video and data applications are delivered over a single access subscription, broadband equipment vendors and their suppliers are adding increased functionality to their products.
