China Celebrates the Year of the Dog

Chinese portal Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU) has set aside a salary of 100,000 a year for a real live "spokesdog," Beijing Star Daily reports.

Sohu's search engine Sogou will take submissions for its spokesdog from December 30 to January 20. Dog owners with web pages for their pet dogs can apply by putting "I'm spokesdog of Sougou; I was born for search!" on their dog's web pages and Sougou's web crawlers will pick up the submission.

Aside from the 100,000 Yuan salary, the winning spokesdog will also receive dog food, a new dog house, pet schooling, and a chance to publish its own music records. 2006 is the year of the Dog.
