SXSW 2012: Noteworthy Exhibitor Profiles

The following is a list of exhibiting vendors or companies that presented at panel sessions and captured my attention at the SXSW Interactive event -- last week in Austin, Texas.

Music Metric provides insight and understanding into consumer behavior online globally for the entertainment industry. They aggregate and analyze all music related information available on the web. From websites mentioning an artist or release, the social networks frequented by music fans, peer to peer networks used to trade music and anywhere music fans leave a comment, they aim to be there and to be tracking the activity.

OverBlog is a blogging platform in constant evolution. They say it's the biggest blog platform in Europe (based in Paris, France) and right now is undergoing massive development for a new release in 2012. OverBlog already has many features: including communities, monetization agreements, lots of statistics and a user generated magazine portal.

Portal Entertainment is a UK-based premium digital entertainment company from the heart of London that exists to make immersive entertainment -- stories where the audience can take part in them; stories that put the audience at the heart of the story; stories that leave you with emotional, empathetic experiences that maximize the tension and suspense inherent in great storytelling.

Recite is a hosted service which is targeted at websites that do not have acceptable accessibility standards. A link is placed on the website, for example 'click for accessibility/read text'. Once this option has been selected Recite will be enabled. Recite is an online software as a service system that acts as a translation layer between the user and the website.

SoJoLife is a complete solution that provides Brand Managers measurable results and a whole lot more for their promotional give-away spend. SOJO branded give-aways connect users with just a 'tap' to build real-life networks, expand their online networks and engage with brand communities.

StickyWorld provides your project with a “virtual venue” in which to present, host dialogue and make decisions informed by all your stakeholders. StickyWorld is based around the concept of a "StickyRoom", a virtual space where people can discuss visual work using virtual sticky notes.

The UK Digital Mission included several other interesting companies that were visiting the event this year. Digital Shoreditch is the festival celebrating the outstanding creative, technical and entrepreneurial talent of East London and Tech City.
