According to the latest Communications Market report by U.K. telecommunications regulator Ofcom, the take-up of digital TV continues apace in the U.K., with more than 1 million new households being added in the first three quarters of this year.
Digital TV penetration now stands at 66 percent, with more than 5.8 million homes subscribed to the Freeview digital terrestrial service, and 10.8 million households connected to satellite and cable services.
The report also found that there are now more than 10 million broadband connections in the U.K., with increasing crossover between TV and telecommunications. The average broadband take-up rate during the three months to December was more than 70,000 per week.
